BAU: A cook at a shopping mall died after collapsing at her home in Kampung Bidi here on Saturday night (Sept 5).
The victim, identified as 34-year-old Florensi Guchien, was reportedly struggling to breathe before collapsing unconscious on the kitchen floor at around 9 pm.
Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said she was rushed to Bau Hospital by her family, but was pronounced dead at 10.09pm.
Initial examination found no suspicious injuries or indications of foul play.
The victim was known to have a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and anaemia, and had been receiving follow-up treatments at Bau Hospital.
Police have classified the case as sudden death.
Haide said a post-mortem would be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
