MIRI: The opening of Borneo Medispa here yesterday will not only create more job opportunities but also helps propel the spa and wellness industry forward, said Welfare, Community Well-being, Women and Family Childhood Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.

Speaking at the launch of the outlet  at Meritz Hotel Miri, the minister pointed out that outlet founder had made the right choice by choosing Miri as its location.

“The city has been the centre for tourists from our neighbouring country, Brunei, and I believe with the excellent service that you are providing, you can expand and grow further,” she opined.

The outlet is Borneo Medispa’s second branch  after Kuching.

The first  in Kuching was set up in 2017 by    Dr Dalvinder Singh and his wife Dr Esther Michael.

Fatimah  added as the global spa and wellness industry expanded, demand for its services would increase.

“I hope to see Borneo Medispa grow and create a positive impact in Sarawak and beyond,” he said.

Medi spa also contributed RM5,000 to the “Beauty with a Purpose” project with Miss World Malaysia 2018 Larissa Ping to empower the Penan youths in Long Seridan.

Also present at the launching were  Welfare, Community Well-being, Women and Family Childhood Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus,  Dalvinder, Esther  and Merits Hotel general manager John Teo.
