MIRI: A total of 19 drug-filled straw tubes were seized from an Indonesian man in his 30s in Batu Niah during a raid conducted by Miri Narcotics police department yesterday.
According to city police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the seized drugs – believed to be methamphetamine weighing 5.5g – is valued at RM750.
He added that the suspect who is unemployed was picked up from a room in a premise in Batu Niah during the raid held at 8.50am.
The suspect tested positive for drugs and is currently being detained at Miri Narcotics police department office for further questioning.
“He has no previous records in drug related offences,” Lim added.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
