KUCHING: Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How has the freedom to join any political group.
Political pundit Mohammad Rezza Abdullah Bahida said that if See joins the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), it might not change Sarawak’s politics much.
“SUPP is part of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) group, which is a major political alliance in Sarawak. In these setups, each member usually works together towards common goals,” Rezza told New Sarawak Tribune.
He further noted that the GPS coalition is at the forefront of propelling Sarawak towards economic prosperity and societal welfare, as outlined in the state’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
See had earlier said he wanted to join SUPP after the state assembly ended but chose to stay independent until then.
“I can’t join SUPP or any party until the term ends. It’s still a long time away. After the dissolution, we’ll make a decision,” he added.
