KUCHING: Hilton Kuching has completed a major design-led renovation, introducing several firsts for the city, including Malaysia’s first Hilton Kids Club and an upcoming whiskey-focused speakeasy, RYE, set to open in the final quarter of 2025.
The transformation also features redesigned guestrooms, upgraded wellness facilities, and refreshed dining concepts, positioning the hotel as a premier destination for families, business travellers, and food enthusiasts.
Hilton Kuching general manager Adrian Teh said the extensive revamp aimed to redefine the hotel’s role in the city, adding that the changes were designed with inspiration from Kuching’s heritage while embracing the needs of today’s traveller.
“Among the highlights is the Hilton Kids Club, the first of its kind for Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia.
“It offers an indoor play zone, reading nook, climbing structures, and craft stations with activities supervised to encourage creativity and cultural connection,” he said.
He added that the hotel’s culinary offerings have also been enhanced, with Toh Yuen serving halal-certified Cantonese cuisine with a Sarawak twist, River View Café featuring expanded buffet selections, The Terrace providing alfresco dining, and The Koffee offering locally roasted coffee and fresh bakes.
Meanwhile, Teh said that the soon-to-open RYE speakeasy promises a whiskey-forward experience with a curated selection of premium spirits and small plates inspired by local ingredients.
“Other upgrades include a revitalised pool deck with a children’s pool, a fully equipped gym, and a reimagined Executive Lounge for Hilton Honors Diamond members and Executive Floor guests,” he said.
Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor said Hilton Kuching’s sustainability direction aligned with Sarawak’s tourism vision, noting that the collaboration would create guest experiences that are immersive, respectful, and memorable.
“With the completion of its renovation, Hilton Kuching said it aims to blend modern sophistication with Sarawak’s heritage, offering experiences that linger long after check-out,” she said.
