KUCHING: Issues concerning immigration in Sarawak are under control.

Sarawak Immigration director Abang Abdul Halim Abang Naili assured the department had taken various proactive measures to ensure that immigration measures in the state are well maintained.

“This includes air and ground surveillance and inspection at all entry and exit points in the state.

“Other than that, there is no issue with passports either. We have informed the Premier on the matter,” he said yesterday.

Earlier, he paid a courtesy visit to the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

In addition to obtain advice and views from the Premier, Abdul Halim said the visit was also to present several proposals regarding improvement to immigration services.

Also present were State Immigration deputy director (Management Division) Azlan Othman and Sarawak State Immigration deputy director (Control Division) Alice Alixius.
