KUCHING: Sarawakian mixed martial artist Jace Law secured a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Kurdish fighter Hakar Gardi at Strike MMA in Kuala Lumpur on April 19, dedicating the win to his family and team.
The lightweight contest at Pusat Komuniti Sentul Perdana went the distance, with Law staying disciplined across three rounds to edge a closely fought bout.
“It feels great to get the win, especially after everything that went into this fight.

“I knew I had to go out there and perform, not just for myself, but for my wife and daughters, my team, my students, and everyone who’s been supporting me”, he said when contacted recently.
Law said sticking to his game plan proved decisive.
“It wasn’t an easy fight, but I stayed disciplined, stuck to the plan, and made sure I got the job done,” he added.
He also revealed that his preparations were disrupted after coming down with flu symptoms ahead of the bout.
“But once you step into the cage, there are no excuses. I focused on staying mentally strong and trusting the work I’ve put in.

“Even when the fatigue kicked in, I kept pushing forward and relied on my conditioning and mindset to carry me through,” he said.
The Sarawakian had earlier shared that the bout carried personal meaning, as he dedicated the fight to his pregnant wife and children.
The win marks a strong result for Law as he continues his competitive run on the regional stage.
