KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has received recognition at the Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA) 2026 for its Darul Hana Redevelopment Project.
The award was received by Corporate Affairs Division senior manager Saiful Bahari Amra Ramly, on behalf of the LCDA general manager, at the awards ceremony in Taipei, Taiwan on Aug 27, according to a statement.
Corporate Affairs Division manager Sapheri Rosli was also present.
The Darul Hana Redevelopment Project was recognised under the “Sustainability Action Award – Social Inclusion” category, which highlights impactful initiatives in social inclusion and sustainable development, the statement said.
The recognition reflects LCDA’s approach of pursuing development that goes beyond physical infrastructure to include stakeholder engagement, socioeconomic transformation, community wellbeing and sustainable urban renewal, it added.
Through the project, LCDA has sought to balance development with the needs and interests of the local community, reinforcing the authority’s community-centred approach and its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, the statement said.
APSAA is a regional sustainability award programme organised by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), involving the participation of various organisations from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The recognition further strengthens LCDA’s standing in the sustainable development agenda and its commitment to development that benefits the community and Sarawak’s socioeconomic growth, the statement said.
