KUCHING: A Mercedes-Benz was among two vehicles seized by the Road Transport Department (RTD) during an integrated enforcement operation under Ops Luxury and Ops Gempur Kenderaan Perdagangan around the city on Wednesday (Apr 15).
Sarawak RTD said a total of 514 vehicles were inspected during the operation carried out by its Kuching enforcement unit.
The luxury car was seized for having an expired road tax and no insurance coverage.
A lorry was also seized after it was found to have multiple offences, including expired road tax and no insurance.
Further checks revealed the driver did not possess a valid Competent Driving Licence (CDL) or Goods Driving Licence (GDL).
The vehicle was also found to have poorly maintained tyres, no body markings, and no valid carrier licence.
The department assured that enforcement operations would continue to be intensified to ensure compliance with road regulations and improve road safety.
