KUCHING: National muaythai fighter Rifdean “Magic Boy” Masdor continued his rise on the international stage after the 23-year-old secured a dominant unanimous decision victory over Laotian fighter Petkiattisak ‘The Tank’ O Sansuk at ONE Friday Fights 153 in Bangkok, Thailand tonight.
The win improves Masdor’s professional record to 6-1.
Masdor came out aggressive from the opening bell, immediately forcing Petkiattisak onto the back foot with sharp pressure and clean elbows. The Sarawak-born fighter repeatedly broke through the guard, mixing sweeps, hooks and counters to dictate the pace of the contest.
A barrage of strikes eventually sent the Laotian fighter to the canvas in the opening round, as Masdor maintained control with composed movement and clinical timing.
The exchanges intensified in the second round.
Petkiattisak attempted to regain momentum with kicks early on, but Masdor responded by pinning him down after catching the Laotian off balance. A direct knee strike visibly rattled Petkiattisak, before another high-knee exchange sent both fighters tumbling to the canvas.
Masdor continued to read the fight well, countering consistently while forcing Petkiattisak into defensive exchanges. Blood began to show on the Laotian fighter as the pace intensified.
Yet Petkiattisak refused to fold.
The Laotian absorbed punishment and continued pressing forward, showing resilience despite the mounting pressure from the Malaysian.
Masdor shifted gears again in the third round, opting for a more aggressive approach. Combining elbows with rapid jabs, the Malaysian mixed slick footwork with sharp counters, dodging attacks before firing back instantly.
Petkiattisak continued swinging despite signs of fatigue, but Masdor remained composed, landing another double knee combination that forced another knockdown.
In the end, Masdor’s sharper reads, relentless pressure and cleaner striking earned him a deserved unanimous decision victory in Bangkok.
