SINGER Marsha Milan has described the chance to perform alongside legendary Indonesian band Ungu as a dream come true.

The 41-year-old will be a special guest at Ungu 3 Dasawarsa: Special Night in Kuala Lumpur, organised by COMs.

Creative Studio and DM Diamond Entertainment, at Idea Live Arena, Petaling Jaya, on Sept 5.

“I was at Gegar Vaganza recently when Pasha performed, and I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to one day share the stage and sing a duet with him.

“When this offer came, I was genuinely overjoyed.

A dream I’d quietly held for years had finally come true,” she said.

Marsha said it was a great honour to perform with one of the region’s most influential bands, whose songs had long been part of her own musical journey.

Although she was currently focused on preparations for the 40th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL40), she said she was equally committed to delivering her best for the September concert.

“Right now, AJL is my priority because it’s just around the corner.

Once that’s over, we’ll have enough time to prepare for the concert,” she said.

Marsha added that she is still finalising her solo set and hopes to perform several of her own songs, while leaving the duet selection entirely to Ungu.

“Their songs are all iconic and full of nostalgia, so I’ll leave that decision to them,” she said.

The concert marks Ungu’s 30th anniversary and will feature members Pasha (vocals), Enda (guitar), Oncy (guitar), Makki (bass) and Rowman (drums).

The band is also expected to debut a new song live for Malaysian fans.
