MELAKA: The flood situation in Melaka continued to improve, with only 47 evacuees from 12 families remaining at two temporary relief centres (PPS) as of 8 am today, down from 800 people from 266 families recorded at 5 pm yesterday.
The Department of Social Welfare’s (JKM) Infobencana portal reported that all remaining evacuees are being housed at two relief centres in the districts of Alor Gajah and Jasin.
According to the portal, all four relief centres in Melaka Tengah district were closed yesterday, allowing all affected residents to return home.
In Alor Gajah, five evacuees from one family remain at the Kampung Jeram Community Hall relief centre, while in Jasin, 42 people from 11 families are staying at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tehel.
