KUCHING: Newly-appointed Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Chief SAC Lim San Aik has pledged to curb crime in the state.
Lim who was previously attached to the Special Investigation Division (D9) at the Bukit Aman police headquarters, assured that appropriate action would be taken and encouraged the public to come forward and provide necessary feedback.
“If there are any unreported cases, I urge the public to share their information so that we can assess the situation and take action accordingly,” he told the press following a duty handover ceremony at the Sarawak police headquarters, here Monday (March 3).
Earlier, Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata witnessed the handover of duties between Sarawak Acting CID Chief ACP Mohd Ishak Yaakob and Lim.
Lim assured that the skills and knowledge he had gained at Bukit Aman would be applied in Sarawak.
He started his career as an Assistant Superintendent (ASP) in D9 Bukit Aman, later being promoted to Deputy Superintendent in D8 Bukit Aman (Special Operations). In 2023, he was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in D9, and eventually to Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC).
