ACTRESS Nurel Baharin is set to bid farewell to single life next week after a whirlwind romance that convinced her she had found the right partner.
The 24-year-old admitted that marriage at a young age had never been part of her plans. However, she believes meeting her fiancé was a blessing she could not ignore.
“I never imagined getting married this young, but I believe this is my rezeki (blessing). I met a good man who is very decisive.
He wasted no time in meeting my family,” she said.
Describing the upcoming wedding as the greatest blessing she has received this year, Nurel said both families have been supportive of their decision.
“My future in-laws have been wonderful, and my parents have been very understanding.
Initially, they hoped I would only get married when I turned 30, but my fiancé knew exactly what he wanted and managed to convince them,” she said.
Speaking about the relationship, Nurel revealed that she and her future husband dated for only a year before deciding to marry. “Our relationship developed very quickly.
We knew each other for about a year, and within that same year we decided to get married.
“What gave me confidence was his determination to make our relationship halal. He was willing to meet my family almost immediately.
On the second day we met, he was already introduced to my mum. “A few days later, he met my siblings.
He had his own plans for getting to know the people closest to me, and my family were impressed by the effort he put in,” she said.
Despite preparing to become a wife, Nurel stressed that marriage would not signal the end of her acting career.
She said her fiancé, a businessman, has never imposed any conditions or restrictions on her career and has encouraged her to continue working.
“My decision to get married won’t affect my career.
My fiancé wants me to continue acting and has never asked me to stop working.
He wants a wife who has her own career.
As for having children, that’s something we can plan together later,” she said.
