The delegation was led by Sarawak Chief Ombudsman Datuk Seri Abdul Ghafur Shariff, accompanied by Deputy Chief Ombudsman Alexander Unya Ambon and three Ombudsman namely Datuk Buckland Bangik, Albert Tang Yew Liong and Toieyah Tioh.

The meeting, aimed to introduce the new Sarawak Ombudsman leadership team, while seeking views and advice from Wan Junaidi on efforts to strengthen administrative transparency, enhance public service delivery systems and promote integrity in the state’s governance.

During the meeting, Tun Pehin Sri also received two publications from Abdul Ghafur, namely “Ombudsman Concept, Principles and Paradigms” and the “Sarawak Ombudsman Ordinance”, as references on the role and functions of the Ombudsman institution in strengthening good governance.

The couple expressed hope that the Sarawak Ombudsman would continue to serve as a credible institution in upholding integrity, justice and transparency, while strengthening public confidence in the state’s administrative system and contributing to Sarawak’s progress and prosperity.
