KUCHING: The Hari Raya festivity continues with political secretary to the Sarawak Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman hosting his open house yesterday.

The Hari Raya open house held at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka here saw around 4,000 members of the public from all across Kuching attending the celebration.

Boys’ and Girls’ Scouts of Matang division (PENGAKAP) from different schools here were among the volunteers who assisted to distribute the food and drinks during the event.

New Sarawak Tribune was able to meet with some members of the public alongside volunteers who attended the open house.

Nakir

Akir Maira Zaidi one of the Girls’ Scouts said that the Scouts were helping with the open house celebration.

“A celebration like this can help strengthen the bond among the people that come to this open house and also help in feeling the Aidilfitri vibe,” said the 17-year-old.

One of the attendees Nakir Irshad said that he can meet new people by coming to the open house celebration.

“We got to experience different kinds of food served here during the celebration such as roti canai, apam balik and others,” said the 15-year-old.

Also present were the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Federal Minister of Work Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Deputy Minister in Premier’s Office (Law MA63, State-Federal Relation) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and other distinguished guests.
