PADAWAN: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bengoh will represent Sarawak at the upcoming National Robotics Competition, marking a proud milestone for the school and its students.

To celebrate the achievement, a lunch celebration was held at SK Bengoh on Tuesday (Sept 2) to honour the Robotics Team’s success, officiated by philanthropist and businessman Andrew Victor Tanyuh, who is also the chairman of Mambong SUPP and patron of the Serian Softball Association.

“The use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology can help improve students’ understanding of various aspects of learning, thus opening up more opportunities for more effective and interactive educational approaches,” he said.

Andrew expressed his full support for the school’s involvement in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field, emphasising that financial constraints should not hinder students’ progress in robotics.

“Strong support must be provided to ensure students’ talents and potential can continue to be honed,” he added.

He congratulated the SK Bengoh Robotics Team on their remarkable achievement, describing it as a source of pride for the school and the surrounding Puncak Borneo community.

“This effort should be continued and strengthened. I hope this team will be an example for other students to continue working in the curriculum and co-curricular areas,” he said.

To support the team’s preparation, Andrew contributed RM5,000 towards SK Bengoh’s robotics development programme and an additional RM2,000 to cover expenses for the competition, which will be held at the Malaysia Multimedia University (MMU) in Cyberjaya from Sept 7 to 10.
