KOTA SAMARAHAN: Civil servants are urged to opt for the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) to get better salary adjustments.

According to Congress of Union of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) president Datuk Dr Adnan Mat, the SSPA offers improved salary adjustments without affecting the pension scheme.

He made this statement during the ‘Bual Bicara with Cuepacs President’ event on Wednesday (Oct 2).

For the record, civil servants with permanent appointments as of Dec 1, 2024, will be given the option to switch to the SSPA or remain under the Malaysian Remuneration System (SSM).

Those who have retired and resigned, or have been terminated and dismissed before or on that date will not be eligible for the option, as outlined in Public Service Circular No. 1 of 2024 issued by the Public Service Department (JPA).

During the event, Dr Adnan also provided a brief overview of the civil service salary increase announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In addition, Dr Adnan visited the Samarahan Division Resident Office, accompanied by seven senior Cuepacs officers from Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Sarawak.
