KUCHING: Tas-Tin restaurants have officially obtained halal certification, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing consumers with halal-assured food products.
Jabatan Agama Islam Sarawak (JAIS) director Mual Suaud congratulated Tas-Tin on the successful halal certification of its two premises, noting that the accomplishment reflects the company’s continuous commitment to maintaining compliance with recognised halal standards.
“Tas-Tin restaurants have received halal certificates, namely at The Spring and another at Plaza Merdeka,” he said during the presentation of the halal certificate at The Spring, here, Tuesday (June 30).
He said that analysis of applications showed that food products accounted for the most, reflecting the food sector’s continued role as the primary driver of growth in Sarawak’s halal industry.
Tas-Tin director, Daniel Bong said the company’s halal certification application process took between four and six months.
“The halal certification process requires strict compliance with established standards and quality control measures.
“Every ingredient used in our products is carefully checked and verified, giving both the company and consumers greater confidence in the quality and integrity of the products,” he said.
Bong added that adherence to halal standards is particularly important for chefs and business owners, as it assures customers that products are prepared using certified ingredients that meet recognised quality and safety requirements.
“Obtaining the halal certification is an important milestone in the company’s development,” he said noting that the halal market holds out significant opportunities not only in Malaysia but also globally.
