KUCHING: Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin of Selangor visited the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) in Santubong, today (Nov 7).
She was greeted on arrival at SCV at 8.50am by Puan Seri Datuk Fatimah Mohamad Iskandar, wife of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker.

Her royal highness visited Rumah Bidayuh and Rumah Iban, which are the traditional houses of the Sarawak ethnic communities.
Additionally, she also had the opportunity to get a closer look at the process of weaving ‘pua kumbu’, the preparation of traditional delicacies such as ‘kuih jala’ and ‘kuih chap’, as well as the process of making ‘parang ilang’.

Tengku Norashikin later watched special performances by SCV, including cultural dances of the Melanau, Iban, Bidayuh, Malay and Orang Ulu, complete with their traditional attire.
She was accompanied during the visit by Datin Amar Enn Ong Siok Ean and Datin Seri Baduyah Bujang.
