KUCHING: Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Teo Nie Ching arrived here yesterday ofor a three-day working visit here.
Teo will pay a courtesy call to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi, today (May 3).
Following that, she is expected to visit the Data Centre and Sub Sea Cable Landing Station before leaving for Sibu tonight.
The following day, she will attend the Song District digital infrastructure progress briefing by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) at Song District Office.
Teo will also visit several digital infrastructure locations such as the Point of Presence (PoP) project site of SK Cardinal Vaughan, Song, the Digital Economy Center (PEDi) Song and the Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) telecommunication tower site in Nanga Sesawak, Song.
In the afternoon, Teo will attend RTM Sibu’s Gawai Raya programme and depart for Kuala Lumpur at night.
Present to welcome her at the Kuching International Airport were deputy director of the Malaysian Information Department Sarawak Aziz Abdul Rahman, deputy director of the Broadcasting Department Sarawak Norjihan Yahya, director of MCMC Sarawak Regional Office Adiman Ajem, Sarawak Bernama bureau chief Hamdan Ismail, director of the National Film Corporation of Malaysia Sarawak Rizal Mohamed Yunus, Telekom Malaysia Berhad general manager Abdul Rahman Taha and Pos Malaysia Berhad Sarawak general manager Bong Tung Hui.
