BETONG: A 6As hopeful pupil of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Nanga Lidong had to go to her school in a Betong Civil Defence Boat boat after the road from her longhouse to the school was flooded.
The Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) candidate, Magdelina Rokis from Kejemut and another friend, Lunya Michael from Lipat Ulu, however, looked calm before entering the examination room at 8.00am.
11 UPSR candidates of SK Nanga Lidong yesterday was forced to move three times because the designated examination room was flooded.
“The rain that has fallen over the last three days has caused many areas in this school to be flooded including the examination room.
“But, there are still safe buildings that can be used and that’s where we move the UPSR candidates so they can answer the questions calmly and smoothly,” said Headmaster, Mohamad Ali Kupon, adding that on the first day, the candidates’ examination room was changed three times.
The fields are under more than four feet of water while there is a building under one foot of water.
Mohamad thanked the Betong Civil Defence Force for bringing and sending the pupils to the school.
SK Tabut is also affected by the floods.
