KUCHING: A small squad delivered big results when Warmonger Training Academy Miri bagged three gold medals and one silver at the Muaythai TYT Cup and Borneo Cup 2026, held from Apr 16 to 19.
The four-man squad punched above their weights to secure the haul at the tournament.
Head coach Tingang Bulan said the team’s success came down to preparation and discipline.
“We train our boys hard. We prepare them for a war, not just a fight. We give them more than what the competition expects, so that they are ready for what’s to come.
“Our boys are hardworking, and that showed in their performance”, he said when contacted recently.
Danny Huang, Muhammad Saifuddin Halek and Ethan Tsen Yun Kiong each struck gold, while Joshua Hii secured silver after a hard-fought bout.
Despite fielding fewer fighters, Warmonger’s athletes delivered when it mattered, turning preparation into podium finishes.
Tingang said the team will continue to build on the momentum, with more competitions lined up this year.
“There will be more fights this year, and our athletes will be ready for the upcoming competitions. Be ready because we are coming in hot”, he added.
Warmonger Training Academy is a multi-combat sports gym based in Miri, specialising in boxing, mixed martial arts, muay thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
