SIBU: Eleven individuals tested positive for drugs while two foreigners were detained during joint enforcement operations at Jalan Bukit Lima here on Thursday (Apr 23).
The operations, conducted by the Road Transport Department (RTD) in collaboration with the Immigration Department (JIM) and National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), were carried out in both morning and night sessions in front of SMK St Elizabeth.
“JIM detained two foreigners for offences under the Immigration Act, while AADK took action against the 11 individuals who tested positive for drugs.
“The operations were part of ongoing enforcement efforts to ensure road safety and public order,” RTD said in a statement.
A total of 342 vehicles were inspected during the operations.
Authorities detected various offences, including failure to wear seat belts, driving without a valid licence, expired road tax, and other technical violations.
