MIRI: Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yiew took to the streets today (May 12) to distribute 250 carnation bouquets to the public, mainly ladies in the city centre.
Accompanied by the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Piasau branch mobile team, Ting embarked on a mission to spread joy and appreciation to the women who play vital roles as mothers.
From the open market to the central market and unity market, carnation flowers were handed out to honour these selfless figures.
Ting, when met later, pointed out the unparalleled love and sacrifices mothers make for their children and families, underscoring the importance of expressing gratitude and fostering positive values within society.
“We should be filial to our mothers, express our appreciation for their unconditional love, and strive to promote the values of maternal affection,” said Ting, who is also Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts.
The SUPP Piasau mobile team, known for their community outreach efforts, dedicated this Mother’s Day to recognising the contributions of mothers by distributing carnation bouquets as tokens of appreciation.
