KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching received 400 cartons of biscuits from a group of local benefactors calling themselves the Good Hearted Team.
The non-governmental organisation (NGO), in a statement, said that the team, led by its leader Soh Choo Chan, handed over the contribution to Hope Place at the NGO’s headquarters at Jalan Canna.
“Good Hearted Team has donated numerous times to Hope Place and other charity bodies in Kuching.
“As its name suggests, the group’s good-hearted nature is evident in its commitment to the Kuching community, always having the heart to contribute and play a part in helping those around them,” said the statement yesterday (Feb 13)
The NGO added that the contribution was given after the group saw Hope Place’s efforts in supporting flood victims.
“About two weeks ago, the NGO provided temporary aid to seven flood centres in Kuching and Samarahan, as well as assisted a village affected by a landslide.
“Currently, Hope Place supports about 325 families in Kuching on a regular basis.”
