KUCHING: The re-elected Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary-general Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has pledged to continue working hard and dedicating his efforts to ensure the success of the Sarawak Maju Makmur agenda.

Nanta, who is the federal Minister of Works, also extended his gratitude to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the trust placed in him by retaining him as the secretary-general of PBB for the new term from 2025 to 2028.

The Kapit MP also congratulated the newly appointed PBB vice presidents in conjunction with the party’s 16th Triennial General Meeting (TGM).

They are Datuk Ibrahim Baki, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, and Datuk Len Talif Salleh, who have officially been elected as PBB vice presidents.

“My heartfelt congratulations also go to all members of the PBB Supreme Council (Majlis Kerja Tertinggi, MKT), as well as the Sayap Bumiputera and Pesaka wings, who have successfully secured positions within the council.

“This election reflects the trust and confidence of all PBB members in the leadership chosen to carry forward Sarawak’s development agenda,” he said in his Facebook post today (Feb 16).

He expressed hope that the new leadership would remain committed to upholding the rights and interests of the people, driving progress, and maintaining harmony and unity within Sarawak’s multicultural society.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof pledged to continue carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him and to serve the party and grassroots members to the best of his ability.

“I also pledge to hold firmly to the advice of the Premier (Abang Johari), who is also the PBB president, that ‘Our Strength Lies in the Grassroots, and We Must Defend the Grassroots.’

“Let us, as PBB members, work together to safeguard and uphold unity within the party, and remember the message from our party president—never allow differences in opinion to undermine our party’s core struggle,” he emphasised.

Fadillah was re-elected unopposed as the PBB senior vice president during the party’s 16th TGM.

“My deepest appreciation and gratitude to all delegates and grassroots members of the party for the mandate and trust given,” he added.
