KUCHING: It was a patriotic shopping trip with a personal touch when Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, popped into a local sports store yesterday (Aug 25).
The couple visited UH Sport Sdn Bhd in the city centre, where shelves were lined with jerseys, sneakers, sports gear, and rows of Sarawak and Malaysian flags in anticipation of the festive season.
With National Day and Malaysia Day just around the corner, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah personally selected several flags to decorate their residence for the upcoming celebrations.
The Governor expressed hope that Sarawakians would embrace the patriotic spirit by proudly flying the Jalur Gemilang at their homes, offices, and business premises as a symbol of unity, love, and pride for the nation.
Adding a practical touch to their outing, the couple later stopped by a hardware store to purchase flagpoles, ensuring their new flags will fly proudly and prominently in time for the national festivities.
