SARATOK: A man was arrested for allegedly committing mischief after damaging a wall at a residential house in Kampung Kabong on Feb 8.

Saratok police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the 27-year-old suspect was picked up on the same day following a police report lodged at the Kabong Police Station.

“The incident came to light at about 10am when a neighbour informed the complainant — a 71-year-old local man — that the wall of his house had been damaged.

“The complainant later lodged a report for further action,” he said in a statement.

He added that initial investigations revealed that one asbestos wall panel at the house had been punctured and damaged.

“Police also found that the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine during a urine screening, and had seven prior records,” he stated.

A remand order has been applied for to facilitate further investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief causing damage.
