SIBU: A man suffered serious injuries after being stabbed by an unknown individual along Jalan Bengkel here early yesterday morning (Apr 6).
Sibu police chief ACP Azari Miskon said police received a report on the incident at about 6.30 am.
“The victim, 56-year-old a local man, sustained injuries to his neck and right hand and was rushed to Hospital Rejang Sibu for treatment,” he said in a statement.
Acting on information, police arrested a 58-year-old local man in connection with the case.
“A knife believed to have been used in the incident was also seized,” he added.
Azari said the suspect has been remanded for six days until Apr 12 to assist in investigations.
The motive of the incident is still under investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
