SIBU: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg arrived here this evening where he led a motorcycle convoy.
Accompanied by 19 fellow convoy riders, his journey started in Kuching this morning before crossing the 4.84-kilometre Batang Lupar 1 Bridge and continuing his journey to Sibu.
On hand to receive the Premier at RH Hotel were 100-odd people comprising members of PBB, SUPP and PDP.
Among them were Pelawan, Nangka, Bukit Assek and Bawang Assan assemblymen, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, and Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, respectively.
The Premier is in Sibu on a two-day official visit.
Tomorrow (Friday) he will be presenting excellent service medals to school principals and headmasters in the Sibu Division.
In the evening, he is scheduled to attend a dinner with community leaders.
The following day, Saturday, he will visit the Bukit Lima Forest Park One-Stop Centre, have breakfast in the central market (OSC), and later officiate at the launch of the ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ programme at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang.
