SIBU: Fathers and male voters in the Bukit Assek constituency will once again be recognised for their contributions to their families and society as the N.51 Bukit Assek Service Centre launches its third annual Father’s Day Appreciation Campaign, with 3,000 MILO gift packs set to be distributed throughout the first half of August.
The community initiative, spearheaded by Bukit Assek assemblyman, Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, will run from August 1 to 16 in collaboration with the nine Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs) within the constituency.
As part of the campaign, eligible male voters will each receive a 900g pack of MILO as a gesture of appreciation for the dedication, sacrifices and responsibilities they shoulder in supporting their families and contributing to the community.
Chieng said the programme has become one of the service centre’s signature annual community outreach initiatives after receiving encouraging public response since its introduction three years ago.
“While the gift itself is simple, it carries my sincere gratitude to every father who has worked tirelessly and made countless sacrifices for the well-being of their families. It is our way of honouring their love, commitment and sense of responsibility,” he added.
He noted that the campaign is not limited to fathers alone, but is also open to all eligible male voters in the Bukit Assek constituency, whether married or single, in recognition of the important roles they play in their families, workplaces and the wider community.
He encouraged eligible recipients to collect their gift packs personally at the N.51 Bukit Assek Service Centre during the campaign period by presenting their MyKad for verification.
He stressed that gift packs will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.
At the same time, he expressed his appreciation to the nine JKKKs, volunteers and service centre staff whose collective efforts have ensured the continued success of the annual campaign.
“The success of this programme reflects the strong spirit of cooperation among our community partners and volunteers. Their dedication has enabled us to continue reaching out and sharing our appreciation with the people of Bukit Assek,” he said.
The campaign will be held at the N.51 Bukit Assek Service Centre, No. 3 & 5, First Floor, Lane 1, Jalan Tong Sang, Sibu.
Gift packs can be collected from 9:00 am to noon and 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on weekdays, while Saturday and Sunday collections are available from 9:00 am to noon.
Eligible recipients are reminded to bring along their MyKad and collect the gift packs in person, as representatives will not be allowed to collect on behalf of others.
