SRI AMAN: Contractors have been encouraged to ensure Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe to support effective delivery of development initiatives and enhance public confidence in government implementation.
Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, said timely completion of projects is important as RTP initiatives are closely associated with the government and elected representatives by the public.
He said implementing agencies play a key role in ensuring contractors deliver projects according to schedule so that development benefits can be fully enjoyed by the people.
“That is why it is important for implementing agencies to ensure that contractors awarded RTP projects through proper procedures complete them on schedule.
“I have also been going to the ground to personally monitor the progress of these RTP projects so that contractors understand our commitment to ensuring they are completed and delivered for the benefit of the people,” he said when officiating at the Ngiling Bidai celebration and the launch of RTP projects for the Simanggang constituency recently.
Harden, who is also Simanggang assemblyman, reminded contractors to continue upholding strong professional standards and maintaining the good reputation of their companies.
He said that adherence to project timelines would further strengthen trust in the implementation of development projects and ensure smoother delivery under RTP.
During the event, he also presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation cheques totalling RM44,000 to ten Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) and women’s bureaus in the Simanggang constituency.
