BAU: Eight students from Kampung Bogag who obtained excellent results in their examinations last year received incentives from State Assistant Minister of Transport II Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.
The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported on Monday (Feb 21) that of the eight students, one obtained 10As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination and received an offer to pursue a teaching degree from the Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education Sarawak Campus in Miri.
Three other students obtained excellent results in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination, while two others are pursuing diploma programmes.
The same incentive was also given to two other students who were offered admission to public universities to pursue their degrees.
Henry had earlier presented the incentives to the recipients during the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) thanksgiving ceremony organised by the Kampung Bogag Development and Security Committee (JKKK) recently.
Meantime, at the same event, he also approved a Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM50,000 for the upgrading of the village hall while the Women’s Bureau and Youth Club each received an allocation of RM3,000.
“The same allocation had also been approved for the repair work of two houses of the villagers,” he said.
He said an allocation of RM100,000 had also been approved under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) which would be channelled next year to build a drainage system in the village.
