MIRI : Police here detained three men on suspicion of being involved in a robbery case outside an entertainment premises at Pelita Commercial Centre here on Sunday.
The three suspects, aged 19 to 27, were arrested at Kampung Lutong Baru here by a team of Miri District Police Headquarters (JSJ) at 5pm on Monday. According to sources, in the incident around 2am on Sunday, a 20- year-old man was allegedly visited by a group of men before a quarrel occurred between them.
“The victim then claimed he was beaten by the group before they escaped with some of the valuable items belonging to him,” he said adding that among the items taken were cash and mobile phones and the victim suffered losses of about RM1,500.
Following the incident, police detained the three suspects to assist the investigation on the incident and the case was investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
