MIRI: Six motorists experienced a harrowing moment when the vehicles they were travelling in were involved in a collision on the Sungai Uban Bridge, along the Bekenu-Miri Coastal Road.

Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

Firefighters from the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue station were dispatched to the scene upon receiving an emergency call at 2.54pm yesterday.

Upon arrival, they confirmed that the accident involved a head-on collision between two vehicles — a Perodua Bezza carrying four passengers travelling from Miri to Bekenu, and a Hino tow truck with two occupants heading in the opposite direction.

By the time the rescue team reached the location, all four passengers from the Perodua Bezza had already been transported to Bekenu Health Clinic by ambulance. Meanwhile, the two occupants of the Hino tow truck emerged unscathed.
