BALINGIAN: The family of a deceased couple has donated a piece of land to be used as a Muslim cemetery here.
To be known as Perkuburan Islam Sungai Lila, the piece of land which the cemetery will be situated belonged to the late Haji Zamahari and his wife, the late Rukaiyah.
This was disclosed by Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Faridah Osman at a thanksgiving event (Kenduri Doa Selamat) at Surau Nurul Islam of Kampung Pulat, here over the weekend.
“The family of late Haji Zamahari and Allahyarhamah Rukaiyah have agreed for their land to be `wakaf’ for Tanah Perkuburan Islam Sg Lila, Balingian. I was informed by their son, Zabidin Bin Zamahari about the matter this morning,” she said.
