SIBU: A “Free Health Screening” programme hosted by Sibu MP Oscar Ling Chai Yew’s Service Centre at the Rejang Park Commercial Centre today (Dec 13) received an encouraging response.

According to Ling’s assistant, Irene Wong, the event, which ran from 7.30 am to 10.30 am, attracted 114 participants.

“Most of the participants are elderly residents from Rejang Park and nearby areas, as they are more conscious of their health. However, some youths also joined the programme,” said Wong.

The health screening, conducted by a medical team from Sibu General Hospital, included three essential tests: blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure.

“Besides the screening, we also had a talk by Song Hua Hung, a senior physiotherapist, who addressed health-related issues,” she said.

The programme will continue tomorrow at the same time and venue.

Attendees will also receive 2025 calendars and red packets as tokens of appreciation.
