SRI AMAN: The Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) is making significant strides towards raising its profile, especially within the local community.,

Its chairperson Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to address development gaps in the constituency.

As such, said any issues related to development should be reported to SADA.

“So far, there are several SADA development projects in the Bakong area, including the proposed Stirau-Bakong Bypass, Lingga, Sri Aman, the proposed riverbank protection works at Bakong-Sunga Area, Sri Aman (Package A), and the proposed drainage and irrigation infrastructure at Stirau, Antik, and Bakong Area, Sri Aman (Package A).

“In addition, there are also plans to hold one of the SADA 2024 roadshows in Kampung Bakong this year.

“I hope that the community in Kampung Bakong will support and make this programme a success,” she said when attending the Ibadah Korban event at Kampung Melayu Bakong here yesterday (June 18).

The event, organised by Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organisation (Perkim) Sarawak, saw the sacrifice of three cows for 40 families in the village.

This marks the largest number of sacrifices made at a Perkim-organised event in a single location.

Rohani, who also serves as vice chairperson 1 of Perkim Sarawak, noted that two cows were donated by Perkim Sarawak chairman Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, while another one was contributed by seven Perkim members and their families.

Rohani expressed her gratitude for the community’s participation and support, saying the annual event aims to share the blessings of sacrificial meat with a broad range of recipients across different locations each year.
